ROCKFORD MUTUAL INSURANCE COMPANY AND ASSOCIATES DONATE OVER $3,000 TO THE ROCKFORD RESCUE MISSION TO PROVIDE SUPPORT THROUGH THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC

ROCKFORD, Illinois – For several years, Rockford Mutual Insurance Company (RMIC) associates have volunteered at the Rockford Rescue Mission  on a bi-weekly basis, serving meals to those in need from the Rockford, Illinois community. While RMIC associates may not be able to volunteer for the Rockford Rescue Mission during these unprecedented times, they have proven their undivided support by raising $3,035 in donations to offset any additional burdens the Rockford Rescue Mission may be facing throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Rockford Rescue Mission is recognized as the region’s primary provider of assistance to the homeless, near-homeless, addicted and working poor in the Rock River Valley. Their services are designed to serve physical, emotional, spiritual and relational needs by empowering people to move from despair and hopelessness to hope and life-change.

“Volunteering, fundraising, and raising donations for non-profit organizations has always been, and will always be, a large part of our company culture” stated Kent Shantz, President & CEO of RMIC, “we are in the business of helping people, and in times like these, that is possibly more important than it has ever been before.”

Sherry Pitney, Rockford Rescue Mission CEO, adds “We are overwhelmed and grateful. This gift means so much to our guests, residents and staff. Through our close partnership with Rockford Mutual Insurance Company, together we continue bringing help and hope to our most vulnerable neighbors. We look forward to seeing your smiling faces here again soon!"
